Japanese hardtops are hot

Cars like this Nissan Skyline don’t come about very often. At least not in Europe. This 1986 R31 hardtop is probably the only one in the UK.

The Japanese brands have produced some great sports cars, but they also managed to build several really fast saloon cars.

This is one of them. This hardtop fourdoor sedan has the RB20DET Nissan engine, and it was factory fitted.

The turbocharged straight-six has a turbo and 24 valves, there are a manual fivespeed gearbox and a limited slip differential.

In 2015 this car came to the UK and there is not much knowledge about its history in Japan.

Auction house SWVA says it is practically free of rust, and paintwork has been redone here and there because it had been polished too much!

The good thing about the younger generation of classic cars is that they have many of the goodies that we are used to in our modern cars, like airconditioning and automatic lights and wipers.

The front seats have been replaced by Recaro’s, but the original seat is still with the car.

This powerful Japan-limo has run only 58,000 miles.

It will be sold in the upcoming auction of South Western Vehicle Auctions in Poole, UK on April 27. This car is estimated at GBP 6,000 to 7,000.
