On December 29, the Swiss auction house Oldtimer Galerie has a sale in Gstaad. Among many classic sports cars is also this 1965 Lamborghini Trattori 2R.
It has been fully restored, it is painted in a traditional Gulf-livery of pale-blue and orange. The engine is an air-cooled three-cylinder diesel of 2,193 cc.
The sale of this tractor comes at a great moment because in 2018, Lamborghini Trattori will celebrate its 70th birthday. Since 1973 it is part of the SAME group.
The tractor factory of Ferruccio Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese has quite a reputation for building tractors that are used all over the world.
Of course, we all know the history: businessman Ferruccio Lamborghini started producing tractors in 1948 and when the business went well, he treated himself to a new Ferrari. But he was so disappointed in the quality of his new sports car, that he decided that he could do better. And he gave the world the Lamborghini sports car.
One of those is now for sale in Gstaad. The auctioneers estimate it at CHF 38,000 to 52,000, which comes down to EUR 32,500 to 44,500.
Here’s a video of the tractor itself:
